Thanks, Hi <UserName>, The Bonjour name just has to be unique on your network. I recommend letters (and dashes if necessary). Quite possibly numbers and spaces are fine too, I've just never had occasion to try them. The only thing you absolutely can't use are periods, but the application won't let you use them anyway (for that reason). The default name (SyncDocs) is almost always fine. Changing the name will force a Bonjour update, so I recommend changing the name to something else as a first try if the server doesn't show up in the list. This unfortunate situation was related to the fact that they have completely revamped file management. Thanks, Hi <User Name>, It sounds like you're trying to transfer the files over the USB connection from your comment "iphone hard wired to laptop". The iPhone doesn't support TCP/IP over USB unless you're tethering. SyncDocs works only with a Wi-Fi connection. Some people have reported issues with the USB connected, so if you have a Wi-Fi router try disconnecting the iPhone from USB. The computer running SyncDocs and the iPhone or iPod Touch must be on the same Wi-Fi connection. If you have tethering on your plan, you might try that. I can't because it isn't on my plan, so I don't know whether or not it works. Thanks, If neither JmDNS nor Bonjour are working for you, you might try changing the options on your firewall. Do you have a hardware router/firewall that would protect you from the internet if you opened the firewall up on your Mac temporarily to test it? Thanks, Hi <User Name>, Most applications store their application settings in an SQLite file. This file is not usually meant to be user viewable/editable. There is software available, and most of it is free, because SQLite is in the public domain. I'm not familiar with it, so I can't really make any recommendations. Perhaps the team that made <Application> would be able to make a recommendation? I don't have an e-mail address handy, but you should be able to contact them through iTunes. I was the one who wrote the bulk of SyncDocs though. Thanks, Bridging Bonjour between Networks Hi <User Name>, Bonjour is a broadcast/multicast protocol. That means it usually needs special handling to go between two networks (like a wired and wireless network). Linksys firewalls call this setting "enable WAN multicast filtering". Normally you would want to disable filtering, but in this case it seems the setting does the opposite. See this forum discussion for more details: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=1688524#1688524 It may also be possible to set up a bridge between the two networks with Network Beacon, discussed here: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=488206 If you have another brand, see if you can find a setting like "bridge broadcast protocols", "disable multicast filtering", or something to do with "broadcast" or "multicast".
